Fees and rebates
Fees
The fee is $250 for a standard 50 minute session or $375 for a 90 minute session. Payment is made at the time of consultation, and processed through secure practice management software. Fees apply for additional reports or consultations outside standard practice.
Medicare Rebates and Referrals
You do not require a referral, or a mental health care plan to see me. A referral from your GP or psychiatrist using a mental health care plan will enable you to access a Medicare rebate of $131.65 per standard consultation, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, meaning that your out of pocket expense would be $118.35 per session. If you provide your Medicare card details, your rebate can be processed at the time of your appointment.
To access a care plan, attend your GP to discuss your symptoms and your eligibility for a plan. A mental health care plan provides access to an initial 6 rebated sessions, after which you can return to your GP for review. Your GP will then provide a re-referral for an additional 4 sessions if required.
Private Health Rebates
If you would like to use private health insurance rebates, please contact your insurance provider to determine the rebate you are entitled to, based on your level of cover. You cannot access both Medicare and private health rebates for the same session, but you can use a mix of Medicare and private health rebates to subsidise sessions costs over the course of your treatment if required.
Cancelled and Missed Appointments
Please give as much notice as possible for appointments you cannot attend, so that your appointment time may be used by another client. Late cancellations fees apply and Medicare rebates are not available for these.
